FOOD MEDIATION

Food Mediation is a unique and pioneering new concept. Forming a relationship with the food you eat and hypothetically talking to your food will help you understand the affiliation and bond you have with your eating habits. The relationship you intimately have with food not only shapes your physical look but also forms your character, relationships, behaviour, confidence, beliefs, energy levels, health, happiness, successes, failures, wellbeing and ultimately your destiny.

Our specialist Mediator will help you communicate and understand your relationship with food. Explore and discover why and how certain foods, as well as your eating routine, exclusively affect your moods, behaviour and state of mind. i.e. Do you eat certain foods when you are stressed, relaxed, happy, sad, anxious, bored, lonely, loved, unloved or experiencing a lack of self confidence?

The Food Mediation Process

Given the content of this mediation process the only option for this approach is one-to-one ratio (one Mediator to one Client). Group approach may be an option dependent on initial individual food Mediation consultation.

Although the below Mediation sessions are planned and structured into a 6 week consultation strategy, this can be shortened or extended dependent on the developing needs of the client.

Sessions typically but not exclusively consist of elements such as:

  • Talking, discussing, exploring, agreeing and understanding the person you are.
  • Talking and listening to your food and having an awareness of the relationship you have with it.
  • Discovering together the highlights, joys, bliss, pleasure, contentment and comfort your cuisine brings to you. Similarly, unearth the discontentment, despair and conflict you may at times feel and experience between the food you are eating and you.
  • Collaborating between you and your food by exploring how to balance the pleasures, discord and contradictions you may experience with it.
  • Through mediation research how your foodstuff arrives at your table. i.e. Purchasing, shopping, cooking, eating habits and ingestion behaviour.
  • Mediating and understanding nutrition and cooking solutions, skills, aspirations and ambitions for producing new or enhancing existing home-cooked dishes or skills.
  • Recognising, understanding and managing changes between your developing, transforming or new relationship with food.
  • Eating your way to happiness together and into the future.

An agreement reached by both parties will be recorded in a written mediation agreement.

FOOD MEDIATOR PROFILE:
Julie Slade B.A. Hons – I am a qualified and seasoned teacher, mediator and have developed skills in counselling. I have a passion and love of food and a proven success rate for making positive changes to, not only my own, but other people’s life styles.

As a teacher I will make your journey of mediating with your food an enjoyable learning experience by allowing you to determine your own destiny and experience for yourself that the body achieves what the mind believes.
